Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ClientMarkup ("we", "us", "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. One person per account; don't share login credentials. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

2. What you can do with ClientMarkup

You can use ClientMarkup to:

  • Upload your own design work and the work you've been licensed to share
  • Share boards with clients via the share link
  • Collect feedback, annotations, and signed approvals
  • Apply your client's brand kit to share pages

3. What you can't do

  • Upload content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights
  • Upload illegal, harmful, harassing, or sexually explicit content
  • Attempt to break the service, reverse engineer it, or harm other users
  • Use ClientMarkup to spam, phish, or distribute malware
  • Resell access to the service or claim it as your own product
  • Bypass plan limits through duplicate accounts or technical means

Violating these may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

4. Your content

You retain full ownership of the designs, comments, and brand assets you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and process that content solely to operate the service for you (e.g. showing it to your clients via the share link). We don't claim any rights to your work.

5. Pricing & payment

During our launch period, every new account starts on the Pro plan free for 30 days, no credit card required. After 30 days, accounts roll down to the Basic plan and continue at no cost. Pro features become read-only until you upgrade.

When we turn on billing, we will email you at least 14 days before any charge. Paid plans are billed in advance. You can cancel any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't refund partial months.

6. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but the service is provided "as is" and we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, make changes, or discontinue features. For material changes affecting paid plans, we'll provide reasonable notice.

7. Termination

You can delete your account any time via Settings. We'll remove your data within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. In serious cases (illegal content, security threats), suspension may be immediate.

8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $50, whichever is lower, while the service is free).

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. For material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you by email or in-app. Continued use after notice means you accept the new Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ClientMarkup is registered. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
